Guided Night Hike

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with our Guided Night Hike, a unique evening experience where you’ll explore the woods after dark! This hike is perfect for those looking to disconnect from city lights and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the night. With the stars as your guide, you’ll discover the world of nocturnal creatures, from curious wildlife to the sounds of insects and birds that come alive when the sun sets.

As you explore this dark sky forest, one of the darkest in the region, the stars will shine brighter than you’ve ever seen. In many places, artificial light dulls the sky. Here, the night opens up into a breathtaking canvas of stars, offering a rare and awe-inspiring view. Our guides will lead you on a journey to a peaceful spot where you can pause, lie back, and fully enjoy the wonder of the stars overhead. Participants should be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain. No previous hiking experience is required, but a sense of adventure is a must!

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Comfortable, moisture-wicking clothing: Dress in layers to regulate your temperature. Choose moisture-wicking materials like merino wool or synthetic fabrics to stay dry.
  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or hiking boots: Make sure your footwear is comfortable and provides good traction for uneven terrain, even in low light.
  • Lightweight, long-sleeve shirt and pants: Protect yourself from insects and cool evening temperatures, especially in forested or grassy areas.
  • Light jacket or fleece: A light, packable jacket will help you stay warm as temperatures can drop in the evening, especially in the mountains or along the coast.
  • Hat or beanie: A hat can keep your head cool in warmer months, while a beanie is ideal for cooler evenings.
  • Headlamp or flashlight with red light option: A headlamp or flashlight will help you see and keep your hands free. Red light mode is ideal to preserve your night vision.
  • Insect repellent: Evenings can have heavy insect activity, consider wearing long sleeves or using insect repellent to keep bugs at bay.
  • Light gloves (optional): If the evening is particularly chilly, lightweight gloves will keep your hands comfortable without feeling too bulky.
