What to Expect

9 ZIPLINES

Our course is a Tree-To-Tree Zipline Canopy Tour. You’ll start from the ground where your Sending Guide will clip you onto the zipline. After being given the all clear, you’ll begin your adventure by ziplining into the tree canopy where you will be greeted by your Receiving Guide. From this point on, you & your tour group will stay in the trees as you are escorted through the rest of the course! See below for details on each zipline:

  • Swivet (230 ft): This will be your first zipline of the adventure! Don’t worry, we decided to start on the smaller side to let you get the hang of things.
  • Just Let Go (320 ft): As you reach our second line, you’ll start to feel more confident. It’s totally normal to feel nervous but we hope you take our motto to heart & Just Let Go!
  • Peter Pan (1425 ft): We’re off the bunny hill now. This is the second longest hand braking zipline in Oregon, hope you’re ready for a thrill! P.S. Watch out for your shadow chasing you down the line.
  • Endor (1215 ft): Zipline through a corridor of trees that feels almost tunnel-like, our Star Wars fans will be sure to love this one!
  • Dragstrip (845 ft): This is a speedy one! For an added challenge, you’ll be getting your picture taken by our photographer as you ride this line.
  • Tomahawk (790 ft): As you zip out of a Sugar Pine Tree, you’ll be able to see the abandoned Ski Runs of the mountain which used to be called the Tomahawk Ski Bowl.
  • Science Project (895 ft): You’ll be able to spot our science experiment at the end of this line… Be sure to ask your guides about it!
  • Butterscotch (950 ft): As you land on the platform to finish this zip, you’ll find yourself in a Ponderosa Pine Tree. They are known to have a sweet scent similar to Butterscotch!
  • Buelah (1480 ft): This is our longest & highest zipline on the course! You’ll get to fly over the treetops enjoying a true birds eye view of the canopy and surrounding wilderness.

Our Sky Bridges are connected from tree to tree. You may know them as suspension bridges. They are constructed with wooden planks which are suspended in the air by metal cables, don’t look down! These bridges will help you to navigate through the canopy as you journey towards your next zipline.

  • Catwalk (65 ft): Test your balance as you traverse your first Sky Bridge of the day. Your Receiving Guide will be snapping some photos of you so make sure to do a fun pose!
  • Broken Bridge (40 ft): The second bridge you’ll encounter has a little extra challenge… make sure to watch your step!

The Broken Bridge is the halfway point of our course. We will have a photographer on the ground who will take photos of the tour group in the tree together, of each individual crossing the bridge, and of each participant as they zip down the following zipline!

Each of our Rappels is a controlled descent. Your sending guides will clip you into a device called a Deus to lower you to the platform below. Your guides will take care of your equipment. No braking or rope management is necessary for the participant. The hardest part for participants is stepping off!

  • Lemon Drop (40 ft): Our first Rappel of the course is the easiest thing you’ll participate in. Your guides will take care of your equipment, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the views.
  • Leap of Faith (55 ft): This will be your final element of the day. The Leap of Faith will be similar to the first rappel, but instead of staying in the tree, you will lower all the way down to the forest floor.

Once you’ve reached the Leap of Faith, the group will descend one by one until everyone has reached the ground. Then the tour group will take a short walk back to base camp where your guides will help you remove your gear.

Our staff will shuttle you to the top of Tomahawk Mountain in our 6-Seater UTV’s alongside the rest of your tour group. The steep journey will span 2 Miles & 700 feet of elevation gain where you will begin the course at 4900 feet above sea level. Thank goodness we don’t have to hike!

Before you start your Zipline Canopy Tour, you’ll go through Ground School to get familiar with the equipment and learn the basics of ziplining. After checking in, you’ll meet your guides at the Gear Up Deck, where they’ll fit you with all the necessary equipment (which we provide). Once everyone is geared up, you’ll head to the practice area at the top of the mountain in one of our side-by-sides (UTV’s).

Here, your guides will walk you through important instructions—demonstrating the right techniques, what to do (and what to avoid), and how to use the gear. Then, you’ll have the chance to practice key skills on a ground level zipline, like sitting in your harness, getting into the proper riding position, and using the hand brake, with coaching from your guides. Once everyone is comfortable and ready, you’ll start your zipline adventure with confidence!
